The first year we found only a few venusta and
weren't we happy! The next year we found over 50 in various locations.
Too much excitement!! Photographed in the Anglesea Heathlands.

Details (Vic): Flowering: Flowering September - November, mainly October. Best after a fire. Size: Up to 60cm tall, flowers - usually 1or 2, to 120mm across Position: Mainly in coastal areas, but also in the Grampians. Found in Woodlands, heathy woodlands and open forests, sandy soils. Endemic, Rare. |
