Arachnorchis tentaculata - Mantis Orchid

A noticeably large flower which makes it more easily spotted in the wild.

Details (Vic):

Flowering:  Flowering September - December, mainly between October to November.

Size: Up to 50cm tall,  flowers -  usually 1or 2, to 100mm across

Position:  Widespread.  Open and heathland forest, woodland and open forests, generally well drained soils.

Endemic, Secure.
