A very distinctive spider
orchid. Tall and beautiful to see. This one was found on a track
at Anglesea. The flower has a smell similar to mouldy oranges; try it!
Its height was 41cm.

Details (Vic): Flowering: Flowering September - November, mainly October. Best after a fire. Size: Up to 60cm tall, flowers - usually 1or 2, to 120mm across Position: Mainly in coastal areas, but also in the Grampians. Found in Woodlands, heathy woodlands and open forests, sandy soils. Endemic, Rare. Previously: Caladenia venusta |
