I first saw one over 10 years ago and have
been looking ever since in the same area and all about. The drought
was broken in 2003 with numerous sighting made. That's life for the
hunter. Its best to look at the base of Eucalyptus trees as they hide there! Often in large loose colonies. Photographs taken in the Brisbane Ranges. |

Details (Vic): Flowering: Flowering September- January, mainly October to November. Size: Up to 50cm tall, flowers - usually 1to 5, to 25mm long. Position: Widespread: Found in Heathlands, Woodlands and open forests on well drained gravelly and sandy soils. Endemic, Secure. Previously: Caleana major |
