We weren't planning a trip away when we were asked what our next adventure would be, but by morning, realising the family would not need us for a few days, we quickly hatched a plan.

We camped overnight in a wonderful campground and then headed off - the dust streaming out behind us.  On our first walk we found our quarry - just 5m into the walk.  We found some others but they had moved to the fertilised stage and were not suitable for photography.  We didn't see another orchid for the whole day.

Photographed in  the Little Desert National Park.
