Diuris chryseopsis - Snake Orchid

Back

We rounded the corner rather fast as the car behind was a bit closer than I liked, only to hear - stop there's an orchid.  We drove on - stopped and reversed back.  Yes it was a orchid, but why is it growing on the road reserve where it's in danger.  Moral is that plants grow where they want and not where we want.  I've got allot of new mulch to testify to that!  Didn't find the orchid in the park either!

Photographed on the roadside reserve leading to Baluk Willam Flora Reserve.
