Photographed in Brisbane Ranges National Park, Mitchem, St Arnauld, Cottles Bridge and elsewhere.

An early bird Diuris, one of the first that you see in flower.  It grows in a myriad of places so its not long before you can find one of these orchids in flower.

Details (Vic):

Flowering:  July to December, mainly August to September

Size: Up to 30cm tall, flower 1 to 8 to 30mm across.

Position:  Widespread.  Occurs in open forests, woodland and heathland on well drained soils.
