It's not hard to imagine this flower as a little person with there hands up - saying "Hi".  For this years versions including the rare Green form, see  page 2 .

Details (Vic):

Flowering:  Flowering January to June, mainly March to April. 

Size: Up to 25cm tall,  flower - 1 to 5, to 20mm across. 

Position:  Widespread: Grows anywhere and on anything.  Alpine meadows, heathlands, grasslands, woodlands, heathy woodlands and open forests. Grows on sphagnum moss to peaty soils and sand to clay loams.
