We were looking for these when we went for a 3 day trip to
the west of Victoria, the grain belt. We had finally found the
place, the Deep Lead Flora Reserve and turned off the highway onto a minor
road. We stopped some 50 m up the road as we noticed some yellow
orchids (perhaps, its hard at 40km/hr). They were Snake Orchids and
right next to them were these Swan Greenhoods - lucky break. We did
not find any more in the area apart from this small colony. Photographed in various locations in the Wimmera region. Australian 50cent coin is 31mm (1-1/4 inch) across. |
