We got to a bog, the hiding place for the cyanea - but they weren't hiding, there were lots out among the field ahead, all waving at us, as we decided which one was the best to photograph.

We had been told that a rare white cyanea might be out, but a new track had been put in and they may have been wiped-out.  We could see no new track and the old track was almost non-existent, so we looked and was soon rewarded. Next to it was a great pink version.

The main destinguishing feature here is not colour but the shape/size of the column - they are the same on all 3 coloured flowers.

Photographed on Mt Baw Baw & Mt Buffalo.
