Thelymitra flower's usually only open and stay open when its warm/hot and sunny.  Well that's what we had but where is it?  We hoped this would be the area but a summer storm was heading our way - fast. Then we spotted it still almost fully out - we let out a sigh of relief and went about taking a few pics.

It's interesting to note the column on this particular flower.

Flowering:  Flowering December to February, mainly January to February.

Size: Up to 40cm tall,  flowers -  one to 8, to 25mm across.

Location: Occurs in mountain areas of Victoria, in alpine meadows and snow plains, woodlands and open forests.  Well drained soils.

Endemic, Secure.
