A sphagnum bog towards the south eastern end of the playgrounds is perhaps the Playground's largest remaining bog. It is fairly extensive, with sphagnum mounds well over a metre in height. As I found when I stepped in to a muddy, trampled, patch, and sank above my knees, it is also quite deep in parts. It is now partly demolished. The damage shown in the photographs occurred between January 2006 and February 2007.
