Edge of the World

Back

We were staying at Arthur River for the night and decided to see what there was to do in town.  We soon came across a sign to the "Edge of the World", a place that we just had to see.  Getting out of the car the fierce cold wind hit us, we continued on down the walking track, which turned into a boardwalk.  A junction lead towards the sea on the right, the left went up a small rise to a lookout.  We braved the walk to the right to the end of the boardwalk.  It was cold and the wind made it hard to stand upright.  Waves had caused a small inlet to fill with foam.  After a few photos we headed for the lookout.  A few information boards told you about the area and its history.  After a few minutes it was time to go back and warm up again.

I cast my pebble onto the shore of Eternity
To be washed by the ocean of time
It has shape form and substance
It is me
One day I will be no more
But my pebble will remain here
On the shore of Eternity
Mute witness for the eons
That today I came and stood
At the edge of the world
