Horse Tails Falls Walk

Back

It wasn't the best day we've had. It was raining and misty but we had to check out these falls while we were in the area. From Queenstown it was a slow drive up the hill out of town to the falls, but at least there was a big car park.  It was now pouring hard so we sat a while and had lunch.  During that time the rain slowed and we thought we had better see it now or give up.  The walk was a boardwalk, a very substantial and long boardwalk.  The boardwalk gave views up the valley towards the falls and down the valley, showing the raging stream and eventually Queenstown further on.  The walk went slowly uphill to a final viewpoint and fortunately it did not rain too hard during our time.    Closer to Queenstown was a pull-in shelter which had lots of information on the history of the area.
